Le secrétariat du SCAR annonce la parution de la newsletter de août 2021.

Introduction from the Executive Director

Welcome to the August edition of the SCAR newsletter. This month marks the return of the sun to Antarctica after the winter, which we’ve celebrated with the featured photo.

In this edition, we also reflect on the recent IPCC report and look forward to the upcoming Southern Ocean Decade & Polar Data Forum Week.

We also feature a range of opportunities for researchers at different career levels in this month’s newsletter. Early-career researchers should also make sure to have a look at the BEPSII Exchange Program Award, while mid- to late-career researchers will be pleased to know that the deadline for the 2021 SCAR Visiting Scholar scheme has been extended to 30 September.

We’d also like to remind you that the Antarctic Environment Portal is seeking to appoint a new Portal Editor. The main role of the Editor is to manage the development of content for publishing in the Portal and the regular updating of existing Portal content. Are you interested in this position ? Please have a look at the job description and person specification and share the announcement with your colleagues.

As always, our newsletter also features a range of news from the SCAR and wider Antarctic community, as well as upcoming events, new publications, and opportunities. We warmly encourage you to share your news, photos, or other relevant updates with us for next month’s edition.
